March 2021 - Art Journal page - by Maria Lillepruun

Hi to all Art Daily Cafe fans and friends!

This month we have a very beautiful color combination, but a rather difficult topic. Teal and copper is always a win-win combination for all kind of grungy and retro projects, and this is for a very simple reason. Copper color is the best to portray rust, and teal is the best shade for patina imitation. I love all kind of patinated neo-vintage projects, and I feel very comfortable in the making. The safest way for me would have been creating something grungy and rusty, with a lot of beautiful craquelure, of course.

But the theme for this month is the change of perspective. So I felt like I needed to step out of my comfort zone and avoid the rust imitation in my art journaling this time. This was definitely a challenge! But I finally came up with this idea of turquise universe with the whimsical flowers growing through the space... And I loved the result. So do dare changing the perspective once in a while! It is worth the effort.

Stay creative!
