April 2019 - Ladies - by Monika Huculak

Collage became a part of Modern art in the early 20th century. Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque were credited with naming this type of art. The word collage comes from the French word coller, which means to glue.

I don't have any artists I'd put as personal favorites but I enjoyed learning about the artists after I viewed their works and in a way it helped me better understand what contemplated them to make such fantastic creations.

Collage art is unique because you take already existing materials and arrange them into a new art form. Collage is all about playing around with materials and colors and images, gluing them down and seeing what happens next. The best part is- there is no way to make a mistake. If you don’t like what you glued down, simply glue over it, peel it off or even paint over it.
As always we are waiting for you here, on the blog, on Instagram and Facebook with more of inspirational ideas... give yourself permission to play and join us!
