MARCH 2019 – FRESH LOOK - INSPIRATION BY TANYALEE KAHLER

Hi there Art Daily adventurers. Welcome back to another inspiration post for the month of March.

This month’s theme is Fresh Look, and I have prepared a spread in my art journal and a process video following that theme and using the colour emerald.

I’m not usually a fan of the colour green/emerald, but I used the inspiration in these images and was inspired to create something with a lot of natural objects like leaves and butterflies.

I used my signature style of collaging magazine images and tissue paper to create a base and then used acrylic paint to blend the background. I love using acrylic ink and gouache to make drips down the page as well so I used a muted green ink which added just the right amount of moodiness to the spread.

I had the perfect butterfly napkin that I glued down with matte medium and then illustrated over the top to create leaves in a contrasting colour.

And to finish it off, I used sentiment stickers by Finnabair and acrylic ink splats.
