FEBRUARY 2019 – DAY DREAMING, NIGHT DREAMING - INSPIRATION BY TANYALEE KAHLER
Hi there Art Daily adventurers. Welcome back to another inspiration post for the month of February.
This month’s theme is Day Dreaming, Night Dreaming, and I have prepared a spread in my art journal and a timelapse video following that theme.
As soon as I found out the theme and colour, I knew that I would be making a galaxy spread. I love watercolours and making galaxies with them. And I particularly love silhouettes overlayed with them.
To start off the spread I used clear gesso in the Art Daily journal to seal the paper. I then used plain water to create a circle and added watercolours to make the galaxy. I added some white ink for swirling textures, and salt to make craters.
Once the galaxy was dry, I went over the top with black watercolour to create the silhouettes. Lastly I added white ink splatters to create stars and used a black fineliner to add journaling and borders.
